Moves Management: Where the Art & the Science of Fundraising Meet
Thursday, March 24, 2022, 7:45 AM - 9:00 AM CDT
Category: Education

This is an in-person event. A complimentary breakfast will be served.

Program description: 76% of first-year new donors do not return for a second gift*. A moves management program can support donor engagement and help sustain fundraising revenue resulting in lower donor acquisition costs and increased prospects for major gifts. This session will help you consider the value of a strategic and metrics-based major gift program to identify, cultivate, ask, and steward donors for your organization. We will explore donor relations and the value of keeping donors from year to year. We will discuss timing for cultivation efforts and timing for solicitations. During this session we will consider:

  • The fundraising cycle from identification to stewardship
  • Portfolio management including actions and staging
  • Major Gift fundraising metrics
At the end of this session you will have:
  • An understanding of what a “move” is for a major gift with examples
  • Practical examples of moves management tracking systems combining actions and prospect staging
  • Tools to build a specific moves management plan for a prospective donor
